Common Questions
At The Brain Psychologist, we believe clarity starts with understanding. Our FAQ page answers common questions about evaluations, therapy, and the care process—so you know exactly what to expect before your first appointment. If you don’t see your question here, our team is happy to help you directly.
What is a neuropsychological evaluation?
A neuropsychological evaluation looks at how your brain works — how you think, remember, solve problems, and manage emotions. It’s not a pass-or-fail test. The goal is to understand your strengths and where extra support may help.
What happens after the evaluation?
You’ll receive a written report that explains your results in plain language and includes practical recommendations. You’ll also meet for a one-on-one feedback session to go over everything, ask questions, and plan next steps.
What age groups do you work with?
We work with children, teens, young adults, adults, and older adults. Testing is tailored to each stage of life and focuses on the challenges and goals most relevant to you.
What kinds of recommendations are included in the report?
Recommendations may include school or workplace accommodations, referrals to other providers, strategies for memory or mood, sleep improvement tips, or lifestyle adjustments. Each plan is personalized to your needs.
Do you take insurance?
We do not accept insurance. However, we can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
How much does it cost?
We operate on a sliding scale. This means pricing may vary depending on your situation, and we’ll discuss options with you before getting started.
What other services do you provide?
In addition to neuropsychological evaluations, we offer psychotherapy for mood, sleep, and coping, as well as forensic evaluations for legal and medical settings.
